The alleged breach first came to light after a hacker calling themselves "Neferpitou" put up for sale what they claimed to be approximately 1 TB of Naval Group's internal data, offering a 13GB free "sample" of its contents.

The announcement was made in a post on an underground hacking forum.

The data was said to include source code related to combat systems used on French nuclear submarines and frigates, weapon system software, simulation environments, network designs, user manuals, and internal communications.

These are the same governments that want us to give them our ID and be under constant surveillance. Honestly a mere week ago I'd be furious over hearing that this has happened but now I don't care since the whole UK/EU Internet surveillance thing means we're no better than Russia or China or Iran. I am now fully indifferent to Europe's fate. It really doesn't matter if Russia or China or whatever militarily conquers us. All sides are the same, nothing changes for us. So stop caring about it all, it really doesn't matter. The EU is just as bad as Russia. We're all just serfs to them.

I think it's unlikely we'd see any conventional Iranian attacks on US soil, but the US has bases, embassies, and investments around the area that would be at risk; shipping in the Persian Gulf is certainly at play. Iran also could find ways to do more clandestine actions, like terror attacks, assassinations, or cyber attacks around the world. Coordinated, large operations are harder to plan and execute but it's pretty easy to have a guy drive a car into a building

All kinds of people are in all kinds of countries. They might be able to drop ICBMs from across the world but that would mean extreme and immediate retaliation. They can more easily strike US assets in the region. If something was to happen on US soil, it would have to be some sleeper cell black ops type operations, maybe assassinations, explosions, localized attacks, and then somehow not get caught and identified as being responsible so they don't just get vaporized.

Long answer: there are missiles that can traverse the entire globe, and even shitholes like North Korea can get pretty good distance on their rockets. The fear is that either a nuclear armed Iran could threaten the US or the unstable regime known for supporting terrorists might end up with their nuclear tech in the hands of terrorists

Only real option would be US bases in the middle east. Kuwait, Bahrain, and Quatar all host US bases in closest proximity to Iran, they would very likely be the primary targets. As for the how, naval bombardment with missiles, followed by ground assault, a tale as old as time

They apparently warned Trump that attacks could be met by awakening sleeper cells already present in this country, so some sort of terrorist attack sounds likely.

With conventional weapons, they could only hit targets in their part of the world, but that could include embassies and military bases or naval ships. It could mean commercial ships, too, but I think most companies register their ships in other countries for tax reasons.

Due to geographic reasons Not many country can successfully send a missile to the US. The only way to harm them is a trojan horse.... Hit from the inside. And it s very difficult because it doesn't work as fast and effective.
